The Gold Coast Titans travel to the foot of the mountains for a clash with the Penrith Panthers in a rare Saturday afternoon fixture. Join us for live NRL scores and commentary from 3.30pm AEST.

Penrith (15th) shocked the New Zealand Warriors in Auckland with a come from behind win and will take some kind of form heading into this match.

But their form at home has been disappointing recently and will need to be on their game to down a committed Titans side.

Last weekend the Titans (10th) defeated the Parramatta Eels at home and will looking for back-to-back victories too.

Their impressive forward pack continues to lead the way and its what Scott Prince and Aidan Sezer do on the back of Nate Myles and company that will determine the Titans’ chances today.

Sezer has stepped up at five-eight and relieved veteran Scott Prince and both men continue to improve as the season rolls on. Prince is now running at the line once more and asking questions of the defensive line. The Panthers will need to be on their toes all afternoon.

Lachlan Coote has been a revelation for Penrith as a ballplayer and his ability to beat defenders in traffic will have Gold Coast coach John Cartwright a little worried. The evasion skills of Coote, Michael Jennings and Michael Gordon could spell trouble for the Coast.

Penrith coach Ivan Cleary has had to make plenty of tough calls this year and 2013 couldn’t come fast enough. But Cleary would still be interested to see how his young side goes against an experience forward pack. There is a youthful vibe about the Panthers and perhaps its this youth that can conger a win today.

Inspirational Penrith skipper Luke Lewis will undoubtedly take a lap of honour at the ground that made him famous before moving onto Cronulla next season. The backrower will miss the game due to Thyroid Cancer but his Panthers will still be up for a big showing.

But it’s the simple things that will determine this clash. Both sides need to complete, hit and stick, kick chase and win the forward battle.

Can the young Panthers outplay the experienced Titans?
