The Manly Sea Eagles can secure a top four spot with a win tonight but they will have to play near their peak if they are to beat a Gold Coast Titans outfit that has toiled admirably in season 2012. Join us for NRL live scores and blog from 5.30pm AEST.

Manly have won their past five matches and will take a power of stopping in this year’s finals series, especially if they can secure a top four berth today.

The Sea Eagles are two competition points ahead of North Queensland, who possess a superior points differential.

With this in mind, expect Manly to be at full strength against a Titans side that has performed very well during the second half of the season.

Despite succumbing meekly to the Panthers last week, the Gold Coast have recovered well this season given their horrendous start to the year.

Tonight is their last game at home for the year and the Titans should be expected to play with a lot of intensity against the reigning premiers.

Prediction

The Sea Eagles should know better than to underestimate the Titans today.

Manly suffered a surprise loss to the Gold Coast at Brookvale Oval back in round seven and will be keen to avenge that result at Skilled Park.

The Titans however will be no pushovers at home so expect this contest to transform into an arm wrestle for at least the opening half.

In Manly’s favour, the Sea Eagles have secured some terrific wins on the back of their ability to maintain their intensity for the full eighty minutes.

With pride the only thing on the line for the Titans this evening, it remains to be seen if the home side will be able to match the Sea Eagles pound for pound here.

While the Titans will try hard, the class of Brett Stewart, Daly Cherry-Evans, Jamie Lyon and Glenn Stewart should be enough for the Sea Eagles to secure victory.

Sea Eagles by 10.
