After an improved but ultimately fruitless 2012 campaign, Richmond will look to finish the season with an 11-11 record when they host Port Adelaide this afternoon. We’ll have live scores from 3.15pm AEST.

A three-week stretch in which the Tigers lost extremely winnable games against the Blues, Suns and Kangaroos was always going to cruel the Tigers’ finals aspirations. Had they been able to win two of those three they might very well have been playing next week.

But ultimately, the table doesn’t lie and as Tigers coach Damien Hardwick admitted during the week, the Tigers only have themselves to blame for where they have finished.

That said, the improvement of the list will have pleased Tigers fans immensely and you’d expect them to be challenging in 2013.

They’ll expect to claim the four points this afternoon against a Port Adelaide side who have been looking forward to the end of the season for a number of weeks.

It’s been awhile since the Port side claimed victory, though interim boss Garry Hocking will be hopeful of claiming a victory to round of his four-game tenure as head coach.

Both sides come into this one without regular first 22 starters due to injury, but Port’s list of outs is marginally worse. Chaplin, Butcher, Gray and Renouf will all be missing this afternoon.

An interesting subplot to this one will be the Coleman Medal race, with Jack Riewoldt needing four goals to claim the medal outright.

With plenty of supply from the likes of Cotchin, Martin and Deledio, he should be able to get there. Find out from 3.15pm AEST.
