While the season proper might not start until September, the 2013 NFL Draft is the must see off-season event for any American football fan. Join us for updates and commentary from 10.00am AEST.

The NFL Draft, making its first appearance in 1936, is now an established institution of American sport being beamed primetime to millions of viewers in the US and around the globe.

This year the draft will once again be held in New York City’s world famous Radio City Music Hall, and promises to deliver all the drama and excess fans have come to associate with the NFL.

Despite criticism that this year’s incarnation lacks the talent depth of last season’s draft that saw a host of high profile franchise quarterbacks selected, there are still plenty of reasons to get yourself ‘on the clock.’

In particular for fans down under the presence of three Australians in the draft is sure to generate extra interest, with Alabama tattooed heavy weight Jesse Williams joined by punters Brad Wing (LSU) and Alex Dunnachie (Hawaii).

While Williams has been predicted by many as a possibility to be selected in the draft’s first round (i.e. in the first 32 selected), Wing and Dunnachie are likely to go closer to being the draft’s ‘Mr Irrelevant’ (final player picked) than they are first cab off the rank.

Elsewhere lookout for Kansas and Jacksonville’s critical early picks and controversial Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o – how have his stocks held up post BCS Championship game and combine debacle?

And who the hell is his date?

As well as this there’ll be the usual draft day shenanigans of expensive suits, teary phone calls and trying to guess which picks will boom and which will ‘bust,’ as desperate teams go to great lengths under extreme pressure to secure the cream of college talent.

Join us at 10.00am AEST for all the action!
