Brisbane have moved to put an end to speculation that coach Michael Voss will not see out the end of his AFL contract this year.

The Lions said on Saturday that the senior coaching job will not be considered before the end of the season.

Chief executive Michael Holmes, in a brief statement, said the club would not respond to further speculation.

“The Brisbane Lions have consistently stated that the club’s senior coaching position will not be reviewed until the end of the season,” Holmes said.

“As such, we will not be providing a running commentary on the matter.”

Brisbane have rejected recent suggestions that Voss’ job could be re-assessed after the meeting with Gold Coast in round 15.

His contract is due to expire at the end of this year.

Following their win in the pre-season cup, the Lions have flopped in the home-and-away season, winning just two games.
