All Blacks fullback Israel Dagg will see out his contract with the Crusaders while wing Zac Guildford has penned a new deal with the franchise.

There was speculation that Dagg was looking for a move away from the franchise but it announced on Tuesday he would see out his contract which ends in 2014.

Meanwhile, former All Black Guildford has signed a one-year deal keeping him at the Crusaders for another year.

Guildford, who is set to play his 58th match for the franchise against the Chiefs on Friday, was happy to remain in Christchurch with the side that had helped him battle his problems with alcohol.

“The Crusaders are like a family and they have been really supportive of me during my career. It is important to help repay that loyalty and I hope that I can do that on the paddock for them,” he said.

Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder said: “Zac is an important asset to the Crusaders. Despite his off-field issues he is a key part of the Crusaders family and we are delighted that he is staying with us.”

Guildford has also signed to stay with Hawke’s Bay in this year’s national provincial championship.
