The crucial cogs of AFL's Round 7: Which players need to be the difference makers?
We’re taking a look at one player from each team that needs to make a difference this week, starting with the ANZAC Day games.
West Coast Eagles and Adelaide Crows get the opportunity to sign off their 2013 campaigns with a win. We’ll have live scores from 8.10pm AEST.
After finishing fifth and third respectively, it’s fair to say West Coast and Adelaide have had disappointing 2013 campaigns.
Injuries have been a factor for both, but neither side have really hit the mark this season.
After they hammered the Bombers by 57 points in Round 20, West Coast were given a glimmer of hope at a late-season run into the eight but heavy losses to Geelong and Collingwood swiftly put an end to that.
Eagles coach John Worsfold has made three changes to the side that lost to Collingwood last Friday night. Andrew Embley will come in for his 250th games while Simon Tunbridge and Adam Selwood have also been named.
Will Schofield will miss with a fractured cheekbone while Brad Sheppard and Bradd Dalziell have both been omitted.
Adelaide’s season has been equally disappointing. Admittedly, the loss of Kurt Tippett to Sydney and a season-ending injury to Taylor Walker didn’t hurt, but questions will still be asked of Brenton Sanderson’s side.
Sanderson has made just one change, brining in Matthew Wright for the omitted Jared Petrenko.
These sides met just eight weeks ago in Round 15, when the Eagles eked out a six-point victory at AAMI Stadium.
Can they do it again? Find out from 8.10pm AEST.
