Prior to the Wallabies’ match against Ireland this weekend, I had a chat with Laurie Fisher, the Brumbies’ Director of Rugby, who spent a number of years coaching at Munster and has some great insights into Irish rugby.

We’re joined on the panel by Murray Kinsella for an Irish perspective on the Wallabies and views on what we can expect from Ireland this weekend.

Laurie also gives us an update on the Brumbies’ preparations for 2014 and goes into some great detail about what the Wallabies need to do against Ireland this weekend.

I know Laurie wouldn’t want me to say this but it’s a real shame we won’t see him in the Wallabies coaching team next year – he would have added so much.

If you can find 30 minutes to view the show, you’ll find out:

• How the new Brumbies coaching structure is working;
• Where the next generation of Brumbies players is coming from;
• How David Pocock’s recovery is coming along;
• The Wallabies’ threats the Irish are worried about;
• The area the Irish see as the Wallabies weakness;
• What the Wallabies need to do to beat the ‘choke’ tackle from the Irish;
• Why Laurie thinks we’re being harsh on Ben Mowen; and
• What Laurie thought of Rob Simmons’ performance at flanker.

Of course I couldn’t resist having a chat with Laurie about the scrum problems we’re seeing in international rugby at the moment.

I know we’re a little bit late this week but I had some technical difficulties with the recording – no, I didn’t forget to press record!

I hope it was worth the wait.
