Tabcorp Park Menangle this Saturday hosts the second Group 1 race of the Miracle Mile carnival, with the winner given an automatic invite to the big race the following week.

10 horses will score up behind the mobile for the $100,000 event, so let’s preview each runner’s chances of taking out the money and gaining an invite to the Miracle Mile.

1. Mister Presley
Trainer: Peter Walsh

2. Abettorpunt
Driver: Matthew Craven
Trainer: David Lewis

The Victorian put in a brilliant run last start in the Newcastle Mile (Group 2) as he was forced to race three-wide without cover for most of the journey but still had enough in the tank to charge home and grab second, only beaten by a seriously in-form horse.

Big chance here.

3. Fly Like an Eagle
Driver: TBA
Trainer: Paul Fitzpatrick

Saturday night will be the five-year-old’s first run in Australia for over 12 months, after a solid period of racing in New Zealand.

A good second in last week’s New Zealand Trotting Cup puts the horse right up there with the main chances.

4. Ideal Scott
Driver: Luke McCarthy
Trainer: Belinda McCarthy

Having won seven of its last eight race starts, Ideal Scott appears to be the horse to beat on Saturday night.

A short layoff after a last start victory in the 2013 QRC (Group 1) sees the gelding as the favourite with the bookies.

5. Gaius Caesar
Driver: Darren Binskin
Trainer: Darren Binskin
First up from a spell in last week’s Coca-Cola Sprint (Group 1), Gaius Caesar never really got into the race as it was resuming.

An impressive record, including a Len Smith Mile (Group 1) victory in June, means you still can’t rule him out.

7. Forever Gold

Second-up from a spell, the Queenslander is the rank outsider with bookmakers.

Two Group 3 victories during the winter gives the horse a small place hope.

8. Mach Beauty
Driver: Mark Jones
Trainer: Shane Tritton

The suspension of leading NSW driver Lauren Panella sees Mark Jones take the reins on this five-year-old.

Blistering gate speed could see Mach Beauty challenge for the lead, but there are major doubts over whether or not he can hold on down the straight.

9. Caribbean Blaster
Driver: Kate Gath
Trainer: Andy Gath

Comes back from a decent trip to New Zealand in which the six-year-old gained a placing in the $200,000 FFA.

A history of big-race success provides punters with good reason to get behind this horse.

10. Terrorway
Driver: John McCarthy
Trainer: John McCarthy

First-up from a lengthy spell dating back to early February, but was good last time in.

Will be interesting to see how he performs. Not without a chance.

11. Smoken Up
Driver: Lance Justice
Trainer: Lance Justice

The 11-year-old veteran can boast by far the biggest total prizemoney and clearly has the experience advantage over his younger rivals.

Recent form has still been solid without being spectacular, but his overall record means you cannot write him off.

12. Baby Bling
Driver: Mat Rue
Trainer: Belinda McCarthy

Already a Miracle Mile winner this year, Baby Bling has proven herself in this class.

Form has somewhat dropped away since the Group 1 success in April, but a return to form is possible.
