The Brisbane Roar host Melbourne Heart to open Round 25 of the A-League. Join The Roar for live scores from 8:00pm (AEDT).

Despite a strong mid-season resurgence, Melbourne Heart still find themselves anchored near the bottom of the A-League ladder.

Their quest to make a late run at the finals is still mathematically possible, however would require an unlikely amount of results to fall their way.

Traveling to Suncorp Stadium tonight to face a Brisbane Roar side fresh off the back of securing the Premiers’ Plate will be a big ask.

That being said, the Heart will enter the match inspired to give Harry Kewell a reason to smile, following the announcement of his retirement during the week.

Although the Heart captain won’t be lining up in red and white tonight (Kewell is sidelined by an abdominal strain) the team will undoubtedly try and lift for him in their remaining games this season – whether finals are a possibility or not.

Brisbane on the other hand will ignore all the romance; their sights are firmly set on storming towards the finals, and a strong win at home is essential preparation.

Despite the elation their win over Melbourne Victory provided, the Roar will be aware that a last minute wonder-strike is not the most convincing way to secure a win.

They will be aiming to put in a more complete performance this evening.

Besart Berisha could prove the difference; he returns from suspension for this match and will provide a handy boost up front for the Roar.

The Roar will also draw confidence from the knowledge that the Heart have only won one of their past 24 away games – a truly daunting statistic for Heart fans.

Although the Heart will likely put in a gallant effort tonight, the Roar should prove to be too strong.

Roar to win 2-1.
