A contest that provided two classics last year, the Brisbane Lions and the Geelong Cats go at it again at The Gabba on Sunday afternoon. Join The Roar for live scores from 1:10pm (AEDT).

Geelong got over the top of a gallant Crows side last weekend at Simonds Stadium, with a blistering last quarter keying their win. They look to go two from two to start the season.

The Lions lost to the Hawks last weekend, but looked pretty good doing it; the match was still a contest halfway through the third quarter.

For a side that was expected to be very poor in 2014, they would have been happy with the performance.

Two changes for the Lions, as Rohan Bewick and Jordan Lisle come into the squad. Ryan Harwood will miss with a shoulder injury, while Tom Rockliff is out suspended.

The Cats have made no changes to their winning squad from last weekend.

For Brisbane, Daniel Rich and Jack Redden are both playing their 100th AFL games, and Geelong’s Andrew Mackie will play his 200th.

As said before, this match-up provided two classics last year, with a goal after the siren from Ash McGrath completing a 50-point comeback for the Lions at The Gabba in Round 13, and then a touch on the line saving the Cats at Simonds in the last Round of 2013.

This match-up has been dominated by Geelong over the last few years, with four of the last five contests going their way.

Prediction
Geelong should be too good for the Lions here, as they are missing arguably their best player in Rockliff. Look for the Cats to win fairly easily.

Geelong by 45.
