Adelaide United travel across the Tasman to meet the Wellington Phoenix on Sunday afternoon. Join The Roar for live scores from 1:00pm (AEDT).
It’s do or die for the eighth-placed Phoenix, who will remain a finals chance with a win, but more than likely find their play-off aspirations over with a loss.
Wellington will be heartened by their blemish-free home record against Adelaide, who have visited seven times without a triumph.
But rarely have the Reds travelled there in better shape than now – in fifth place and with the carrot of sealing a finals berth.
Wellington have brought Alex Rufer into their squad, along with Ben Sigmund and Carlos Hernandez who return from suspension and injury.
Adelaide United have promoted Ryan Kitto and Nathan Konstandopoulos, while Jon McKain has been omitted with a quad injury.
Key: Adelaide’s super-sub Jeronimo Neumann has scored nine times this season, despite coming from the bench in seven games.
Phoenix must stop him to stay in the finals hunt.
Tip: Adelaide United.
Can Adelaide United snag a rare victory in Wellington and spoil the Phoenix’s hope of a run at the final?
Or will the Phoenix stand strong at home, and keep their season alive?
