The SCG plays host to a classic rivalry yet again as the St George Illawarra Dragons host the struggling South Sydney Rabbitohs. Join us for live scores and commentary from 7.30pm AEDT.

You would not have thought it before Round 1, but the Dragons find themselves on top of the NRL ladder, while the Rabbitohs are currently languishing near the bottom.

Although both teams are coming off defeats last week, the Dragons will be very happy with their start to the new season and will fancy their chances of beating their great rivals tonight.

South Sydney are all over the place at the moment. Their performance against Canberra last week was poor to say the least and was hardly befitting a team that ranks itself as a premiership contender.

Canberra outplayed and outmuscled the Rabbitohs big time and South Sydney will have plenty to prove to an increasingly frustrated fan-base.

It all starts upfront for the Rabbitohs. Their forwards have been well outmuscled over the past three weeks and things won’t get any easier against a tough Dragons pack.

Ben Te’o, George and Sam Burgess and Chris McQueen are all seasoned Origin and Test players and must play with the form that has earned them such accolades in seasons past.

The performance of the Rabbitoh halves are also a cause for concern. Adam Reynolds is playing nowhere near his best football at the moment and is struggling to develop any attacking chemistry with Dylan Walker.

Even superstar Greg Inglis was quiet against Canberra last week and will be keen to get back to his best after an indifferent past few weeks.

The Dragons, meanwhile, are playing with confidence, with Gareth Widdop leading the side around well.

Prediction
On form, the Dragons should start favourites but a strange feeling suggests the Rabbitohs will bounce back well tonight and claim victory.

Rabbitohs by 8.
