The Brisbane Broncos will fight their way down the M1 to meet the Gold Coast Titans on Friday night in a match that looks set to continue the unpredictable season we’re having. Join The Roar for live scores commentary from 7:40pm (AEST).

Gold Coast
To lead the comp is quite a feat, but to do it with a negative for/against is remarkable. Amazing really.

The Titans have fought hard for their victories and they’ve knocked over some of the big names in the process, including last week’s epic two point win in Melbourne.

They’ve won their last three in a row, but four weeks ago they were ambushed and embarrassed at home when the Tigers put 42 points past their defence.

Which Titans side will show up tonight?

Aiden Sezer will take his place, providing his excellent kicking and goal-kicking prowess. Maurice Blair will play centre with Brad Tighe out injured.

Brisbane
The Broncos have had mainly close results, too. Last start they lost to the Eels at home, giving the Parramatta side their first away win for about a thousand years.

Before this they smacked the Dragons at WIN stadium so one wonders whether the Eels loss was a bit of a wake-up call.

Did the Broncos let their guard down against the despised outsiders last week?

Justin Hodges will want to have a big game. He looked okay last week but some of his antics left some fans with a bad taste in the mouth.

Head-to-Head
As you’d expect the Broncos hold a heavy historical advantage over the Titans; 11 wins to 4. Brisbane has also won the last two, racking up 32 points on both occasions.

This Gold Coast side is perhaps a different prospect. They are confident, pretty close to full strength and playing in front of their home crowd.

The forward battle will be the thing to watch here. Parker, Thaiday, Hannant vs Myles, Harrison and Bird. Expect State of Origin intensity up front in this one.

Andrew McCullough provides Brisbane with an edge in the forwards as Beau Falloon continues to find his way as the starting rake for the Titans.

Prediction
Brisbane will have been stung by their loss to Parramatta and backing up after playing the Storm in Melbourne is never an easy task.

I expect Brisbane to bounce back and join the Titans near the top of the competition.
