Yet another injury has rocked the Supercoach world this week, with Robbie Farah dislocating his elbow after pulling out a massive 142-point haul.

The injury will mean one of the season’s form players will be a sell for those who have him, considering the six-week recovery will see him play two games out of the next eleven rounds, factoring in Origin and byes.

So the first question this week is who to replace the Tigers’ captain with?

The Bulldogs front-row provide two solid options in Aiden Tolman ($288,500) and James Graham ($296,000), who will provide great coverage for the Round 11 and 14 byes, both carrying averages of around 60.

However, Sonny Bill Williams ($345,200) and Sam Burgess ($396,300) seem like two good options (Sonny Bill Williams via a substitute to the FRF position).

Both the proven Supercoach guns provide cover for both the Round 11 and 14 byes are just about must-have’s over Origin.

Centre and wing upgrades
Many Supercoaches have started to cash in their early season CTW cheapies and are now looking to upgrade to better quality options for the future.

Jamie Lyon is relatively cheap at $263,400, however will not be available for both Round 11 and 14. As he is not in any immediate danger of significant rises ahead, he might be one to watch closely and buy after the Eagles byes when he will become essential.

In saying that Lyon is ripe for the picking over the next couple weeks, with the Panthers’ Jamal Idris ($262,300) providing a similar option.

Tim Simona ($246,200) was building to be a great option, with his strong performances in the Tigers backline.

However, Tedesco’s and now Farah’s injuries will provide big question marks over the Tigers attacking potential, thus making him or even Pat Richards risky purchases at this stage.

My pick of the bunch has to be Daniel Tupou. At the bargain price of $200,000 and a break-even of -27, he is set for a couple big rises. With the Roosters bye coverage and a relatively kind run into the Origin period, Tupou should be able to pull out a couple big scores and cover you right through the three major bye rounds.

Rookie watch
Antonio Winterstein’s hamstring injury (4-6 weeks) has brought an exciting Supercoach prospect to the forefront through Curtis Rona.

After a very impressive Auckland Nines tournament, Rona was tipped to potentially start the season on the Cowboys’ wing but lost out in the end.

At 195cm tall and carrying 100kg, the Junior Kiwi representative will make his debut against Manly and many Supercoaches will hope he can put forward a solid case to keep his spot permanently.

Kirisome Auva’a also deputised in the South Sydney centres last week, producing a very strong 58. Joel Reddy’s return to the extended bench provides question marks as to whether Kirisome will drop out if Reddy proves himself fit.

Supercoaches will be able to make a more educated decision on him next week.
