Wimbledon has been a breeze so far for last year’s winner, but this match against Dimitrov promises to be one of the most entertaining of the tournament so far.

The 23-year-old Dimitrov has the full array of shots, and will test Murray from the back of the court. He also notched his first victory over the Scotsman earlier this year on a hard court, while Murray has won their previous three encounters.

Murray is strongly favoured to take this match out, and with both players yet to be significantly tested in this Wimbledon, you would expect the more experiences Murray to step up and take this game by the scruff of the neck.

Both players are marvellous returners of serve, with Murray’s widely considered to be bettered only by the world number one, Rafael Nadal.

Murray has the stronger of the two serves, and if he directs his serve well around the box, you would suspect he would take a strong advantage into the match.

Dimitrov punished Argentine Leonardo Mayer in his last match, but Murray is a substantial step up from any opponent he has faced so far, meaning this is a defining match for him. This is as far as he has ever made it in a Grand Slam.

A win would announce him as a contender on the Grand Slam stage. A loss would confirm the thoughts of many good judges, that he has a way to go to develop into a Slam champion.
