MATCH RESULT:

It is Germany going through to the World Cup final after defeating Brazil by a scoreline of 7 to 1.

Not much else to be said, Germany were just far too good. The match was over early after Germany went up 5-nil by the 30th minute.

Toni Kroos and Andre Schurrle both ended on two goals, while Muller, Klose and Khedira all scored singles.

Oscar had the only Brazilian goal – a late consolation for what was otherwise an embarrassing match for the home side.

It is hard to write Germany in as a sure thing in the final, as they will certainly see a more challenging match from either the Netherlands or Argentina.

FINAL SCORE:
Germany 7
Brazil 1

MATCH PREVIEW:

It’s semi-final time in Brazil, and it’s the host nation taking on Germany in Belo Horizonte. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 6:00am (AEST).

Brazil haven’t had it all their way this World Cup, but they still find themselves in a good position to qualify for another World Cup Final.

After winning their group, they were pushed to the brink by Chile in the second round, before getting past Colombia in a tight quarter final. The Brazilians will (obviously) have the crowd right behind them for this clash, something that will certainly work in their favour.

Germany also won their group in World Cup 2014, beating out the likes of Portugal, Ghana and the United States. After beating Algeria in their second round matchup, a close contest with the French in the quarter finals booked their spot in the first semi-final. They’ll be hoping to get an early goal on the board to take the home crowd out of the match.

The biggest team news for Brazil is obviously the back injury suffered by Neymar. He has a fracture in his spine, meaning that he will certainly miss the remainder of the World Cup. In some good news, Luis Gustavo is back from suspension, while Willian and Bernard are the two main chances to fill Neymar’s spot in the starting side.

For Germany, Shkodran Mustafi is the only player unavailable, but there is still no set Starting XI. Muller looks to be set to start up front, meaning that Miroslav Klose will most likely take his spot on the bench. Mesut Ozil needs to up his performance if the Germans are any chance in this match.

Prediction
Brazil are certainly missing their heart and soul with Neymar being out injured, but I still believe that they’ll have enough in the tank to beat a very good German side.

Brazil 2-1
