The New Zealand Warriors and Parramatta Eels clash, with both teams desperate to win to stay in touch with the top eight. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 5.30pm AEST.

Back-to-back wins over Brisbane and Penrith means that the Warriors should approach today’s match with plenty of confidence.

Parramatta meanwhile are coming off a below-par showing against Newcastle a fortnight ago and remain on the cusp of the top eight.

The Eels will have to be close to their best to upset the Warriors away from home.

With Jarryd Hayne in the side, the Eels are always a chance of causing trouble against any team, let alone a Warriors side that continues to struggle with consistency.

Despite beating the Panthers 30-20, the Warriors switched off late in the first half against Penrith and conceded 16 unanswered points after racing out to a 12-nil lead.

If the Warriors can just remain focused for the full 80 minutes, they will be a force to be reckoned with.

The defence of both teams this season has left a lot to be desired at times so we should expect plenty of points this afternoon.

The Warriors and Eels certainly possess the creativity in attack to make an entertaining affair.

The battle between halves Chris Sandow and Shaun Johnson will go a long way to dictating which teams wins today.

Johnson is in good form at the moment, while Sandow has struggled in recent defeats to Melbourne and Newcastle. Both can produce something out of nothing in attack, but can be prone to producing a poor play.

Overall, the performance of Johnson in recent matches bodes well for a Warriors victory that keeps them well in the hunt for a finals berth.
