Teams competing in the FFA Cup Round of 32

The Australian FFA cup is nearly upon us. We know about A-League clubs, however what do we know about the clubs that will challenge the established teams in Australia and New Zealand?

If you a football lover or just starting to watch a few matches because of the World Cup, this competition is a must. The FFA Cup will showcase how much depth Australian football has.

The round of 32 will start on 29th July. Here is some information about the clubs that have come through the National Premier League (NPL) play-offs.

Broadmeadow Magic FC
Broadmeadow are based in Newcastle, and compete in the Northern NSW NPL. They are placed 7th on a ladder of 10.

Brisbane Strikers
Based in Brisbane, the Stikers play in the NPL Queensland competition and are placed 4th on a ladder of 13.

Manly Untied
United compete in the NSW NPL, and are placed 11 out 12.

Sydney Olympic
Based in Belmore, Olympic play in the NSW NPL and are 6th on the ladder out of 12.

Olympic FC
Based in Brisbane and playing in the Queensland NPL, Queensland’s Olympic are 5th on a ladder of 13.

Melbourne Knights
Based in the suburb of Sunshine North, the Knights play in NPL Victoria and are 10th of 13.

South Cardiff
Cardiff South is a suburb in Newcastle, they play in Northern NSW and are 9th of 10.

Parramatta F.C.
The Chester Hill club play in the NSW NPL. They are placed first on their ladder.

Far North Queensland F.C.
Cairns-based, FNQFC play in the Queensland NPL and they are coming 3rd out 13.

Hakoah Sydney City East F.C.
Based in Sydney, they play in the NSW State League 1, where they are 2 out 12.

Palm Beach
Palm Beach play in the Queensland NPL and are coming 1st out of 13.

Stirling Lions
Stirling play in NPL WA and are placed 5th in ther competition ladder out of 12.

South Coast Wolves F.C.
The Illawarra club play in the NSW NPL competition, coming 9th out of 12.

Bayswater City F.C.
Bayswater are based in WA and are coming 1st of 12 in the WA NPL.

St Albans Saints
This Croatian-Australian club play in Victoria league 1 (NPLV1), and are coming 5th out of 14.

South Hobart
South Hobart compete in the T-League, where they are coming 1st out of 8.

Tuggeranong United
The ACT club play in NPL ACT, coming 5th of 9 teams.

Blacktown City
Blacktown play in NSW NPL, in which they are coming 2nd of 12.

Bentleigh Greens
Cheltenham-based, Bentleigh play NPL Victoria and they are 4th out of 14.

Sydney United 58 F.C.
Playing out of Edensor Park in Sydney, they are coming 10th out of 12 in NPL NSW.

Adelaide City
Another former NSL club, who played 27 seasons in the top league in Australia before their final year in 2003/04.

The FFA Cup could uncover the next big then, a kid who has something special. Playing against the A-League clubs will open up opportunities that some might have thought was impossible.

And who knows, if a club from the NPL does extremely well, the FFA may begin thinking about including more clubs in the A-League.
