Henry Speight is in great form. He’s fast, strong and I’m really impressed by how well he manages to stay on his feet, even after he’s hit in a tackle. He’s also an excellent finisher.

Matt Toomua may have got a hat-trick of tries against the Force last week, but Speight scored one try and made a number of breaks.

If he maintains his great attacking form, Speight could be a key to the Brumbies progressing beyond the Chiefs when they face off in their final this weekend.

My analysis video looks at Speight’s attacking prowess in last week’s match, and how the Force gifted him the opportunity from which he scored.

Speight was nearly unstoppable.

Nick Cummins didn’t have one of his best nights in defence and Junior Rasolea’s poor decision to rush up on Toomua was totally unnecessary.

With Speight eligible for the Wallabies later this year, I bet Ewen McKenzie’s excited about what he can do at international level. He may even get an immediate call-up.

Hopefully, he can re-produce his form for the Brumbies this weekend.
