A very entertaining contest awaits as the Brisbane Broncos host the in-form New Zealand Warriors. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7.30pm AEST.

After a poor start to the season, the Warriors have recovered superbly and are firming as dark horses for the premiership following three straight wins.

The Warriors are coming off a thumping 48-nil victory over the Eels and now face a Broncos outfit they defeated just three weeks earlier.

Brisbane meanwhile have lost their past three matches and are also backing up from Monday’s heartbreaking one-point defeat to the Panthers. If the Broncos defend like they did on Monday, the Warriors could easily put on a score.

Brisbane will be hoping Ben Barba improves significantly on his performance against Penrith. The former Dally M winner has really struggled to find his match-winning form of 2012 and needs to start firing.

Barba’s opposite Sam Tomkins however is enjoying his best period at the Warriors. He was superb against the Eels last week, scoring two tries and having a hand in several others.

Shaun Johnson is also enjoying a good purple patch. If the Broncos allow him to dictate terms, the Warriors will pile on the points.

For the Broncos to stand a chance, their forwards will have to dominate. When they do, the Broncos can be a menacing side to play against it as evidenced by their great win over Manly several weeks back.

When the Broncos turn up with strong intensity and play direct, they rank as one of the toughest sides to beat in the NRL.

It’s certainly going to take a complete performance from the home side to defeat a Warriors team oozing confidence.
