In recent weeks, there has lots of talk about which riders are going to take which seats for the 2015 MotoGP season.

Lots of that talk has been about the possibility of 2014 Moto3 World Championship leader, Jack Miller heading directly to MotoGP for the 2015 season, bypassing Moto2 in the search of a greater challenge.

However, moving to MotoGP from Moto3 could very well prove to be a terrible move in terms of his career prospects going forward. The risks of having massive accidents in your first season of MotoGP when you are not physical ready, and more importantly not mentally ready for the greater, and faster challenge that MotoGP will bring to you is not a great prospect.

This is especially when you had the choice to go to Moto2, where you could learn a bike that has similar traits to a MotoGP bike, as well as compete against seasoned riders who are looking to make the jump to MotoGP.

It should be clear to everyone, including Jack Miller that Jack Miller must not go to MotoGP at this stage of his career under any circumstances. I will be honest with everyone who reads this article, but despite huge talent and desire that Miller has, he is not in the same league as Marc Marquez and not at similar time in both of their careers.

It is also quite shocking that experts within the sport, including the commentators working for Dorna, are endorsing a potential move for Miller up to MotoGP, claiming that Moto3 is the perfect preparation for MotoGP without any factual evidence to support those claims. It is very clear to everyone that Dorna is driving the notion of Miller heading to MotoGP next year, as they claim that would improve television ratings in Australia.

However, being unprepared and achieving bad results in MotoGP wouldn’t help television ratings in Australia, or more importantly Miller himself.

Miller is a very good rider, and will probably be in MotoGP in the future, but not next year in my opinion. He is not the only rider who I have serious reservations on heading to MotoGP next year.

Maverick Vinales, the 2013 Moto3 World Champion looks set to move to Suzuki as they look to make a great impression in their return to the premier class. However, this may not be the best move for Vinales.

Vinales is currently third in the 2014 Moto2 World Championship on 120 points, 50 points behind championship leader Esteve ‘Tito’ Rabat on similar Kalex machinery. Things might be different at the end of the season, but I don’t see Vinales catching up with Rabat, or even Mika Kallio, who is 31 points ahead of Vinales to even justify a move to MotoGP for 2015.

Vinales is a very good rider, but not quite up to the gold standard that is Marquez. He doesn’t have the qualifying speed of a Marquez, and although his race pace is very good, it is very hard to win in higher classes if you don’t qualify on the first two rows of the grid for just about every race.

Vinales must be very confident that he can perform and score a similar amount of points that Casey Stoner scored in his first season in the premier class for LCR Honda on that Suzuki that we don’t really know how good it actually is. If he cannot do this, his hopes of becoming a MotoGP World Champion in the future could be in tatters.

As for Miller, whether he decides to stay in Moto3, or go up to Moto2 to join a team like the Marc VDS Racing Team, or Pons Racing, or any other team that could give him a great opportunity. However, whatever Miller decides to do for 2015, he must not move to MotoGP in 2015, under any circumstance.
