The Sydney Roosters approach tonight’s game against the Wests Tigers knowing that a defeat could derail not only their top four hopes, but their premiership defence overall. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7:30pm (AEST).

With the Cowboys boasting a superior points differential, the Roosters need to beat the Tigers tonight to keep North Queensland at bay for at least another week.

The Roosters are currently two points ahead of the Cowboys but a defeat tonight will see them drop out of the top four if North Queensland manages to beat Penrith.

Despite conceding over 60 points against the Cowboys last week, the Tigers are a chance of causing the upset against the Roosters at home.

Sydney were once again terribly unconvincing in a scrappy victory over the Titans on Monday night and need to improve tenfold if they hope to stay inside the top four.

The Roosters ball handling and decision making at times was awful against the Titans, none more so then when James Maloney gifted the opening try to the Titans by throwing a pass that didn’t need to be thrown close to his own line.

Sydney has struggled to play the percentages well all season and need to keep things simple and direct against the Tigers.

The Tigers have surely gone on a soul searching mission this week after their disastrous effort against the Cowboys. Surely they will put in a more complete performance against a Roosters team that has suffered its fair share of unexpected defeats.

Losses to wooden spoon contenders Newcastle and Cronulla in recent weeks means the Roosters are nowhere near where they want to be form-wise as we approach the finals.

With both teams struggling to hit top gear, the Roosters may do enough to secure victory again in another scrappy contest.
