The Australian men’s basketball team has scored its third win in as many days with an impressive 76-74 victory over European champions France.

Free-throws from NBA star Aron Baynes and Joe Ingles sealed the win in Nice on Sunday, less than two weeks out from their World Cup campaign in Spain.

Down seven points heading into the fourth quarter, the Boomers shot 11 points to the hosts’ three to claim the lead with barely five minutes left on the clock.

A three-pointer and pair of free-throws from NBA star Nicolas Batum (25 points) got the French to within reach in the dying stages, but Australia held out for the triumph.

Baynes yet again starred in the green and gold, scoring a team-high 21 points and nine rebounds.

The San Antonio Spurs’ NBA champion has averaged more than 16 points and eight rebounds across his side’s wins over France, the Philippines and Ukraine in Nice.

Fellow NBA star Matthew Dellavedova also played a key role, posting 10 points and five assists.

The Boomers will enjoy a three-day break before heading to Strasbourg, France, for the final two games of their World Cup preparation against Finland and France.
