MATCH RESULT:

A comfortable win for Richmond in the end, albeit not a particularly exciting one.

The Tigers are temporarily in the eight and will more than likely need to defeat Sydney in the final round next week if they are to stay there.

Not a lot of highlights for the Saints today but the debut of young key forward Spencer White was impressive, he showed off some impressive skills and nabbed three goals.

FINAL SCORE:
RICHMOND 15.8.98
ST KILDA 10.12.72

You’d have to be under a rock not to have heard of Richmond’s good form of late – they’ve won their last seven straight and after looking down and out at the midpoint of the season, rocketing back up into finals contention.

They need a win this week to keep themselves in that race, which shouldn’t be too much to ask against the Saints.

St Kilda on the other hand have won just one of their last thirteen, are sitting on the bottom of the ladder with a woeful percentage.

Enough said.

Richmond have won the last four straight against the Saints, including one earlier this year when they thumped the Saints by 44 points in Round 15 at Etihad Stadium.

The Tigers have made only one change to their side, not risking Dustin Martin who has a minor hamstring concern. Reece Conca returns from suspension as a replacement.

The Saints have dropped Josh Saunders and James Gwilt, while Shane Savage will miss the rest of the season with a broken arm. Clinton Jones and Brodie Murdoch return to the senior side and highly rated forward Spencer White will make his debut.

It’s hard to imagine this game ending in anything other than a St Kilda win, but anything can happen – the Saints smashed the Fremantle Dockers just a month ago and there’s always the chance they could put in another massive performance.

That said, it would be just as surprising now as it was then.

Prediction:
Richmond should win comfortably.

Richmond Tigers by 60 points.
