With just two weeks of the regular season to go, some sides are playing for their immediate future, while others only have pride on the line.

Canterbury Bulldogs vs South Sydney Rabbitohs
ANZ Stadium

If the Bulldogs win this week it will be inspired by Trent Hodkinson. Josh Reynold’s passionate display earnt them a 15-14 victory over the Rabbitohs last time these sides met, however, he will serve the last week of his suspension. Hodkinson needs to step up.

The Rabbitohs forward pack can match the Bulldogs, and their halves should get them home reasonably easily.

Rabbitohs 30-10

Brisbane Broncos vs St George Illawarra Dragons
Suncorp Stadium

Whoever loses is out. Whoever wins continues to chase a top eight spot. It’s that simple.

The Broncos were strong in attack with Justin Hodges at the back, however it will be hard to handle the flair of Josh Dugan and brilliance of halves Gareth Widdop and Benji Marshall.

In a fair contest, the Broncos forwards win it.

Broncos 24-12

Newcastle Knights vs Parramatta Eels
Hunter Stadium

This is a danger game for the Eels. The inclusion of Jarrod Mullen is massive for a Knights side who lacked direction as they fell to Brisbane 48-6. They also hold a superior record over the Eels, having won 7 of their last 10 against Parramatta.

The Eels should be too desperate, however the Knights won’t make it easy.

Eels 22-16

Canberra Raiders vs Wests Tigers
GIO Stadium

The fact the Raiders are favourites speaks loudly about the Tigers’ form and injury woes. The Raiders were plain awful in the first half against Cronulla, but improved significantly in the second 40 through a simple approach.

Both sides field youthful outfits, and Tigers captain Robbie Farah should keep his team right in it.

Raiders 26-18

Sydney Roosters vs Melbourne Storm
Allianz Stadium

The Storm will look to enter the top four, while the Roosters are chasing back-to-back minor premierships. The Roosters did it in style last week, while the Storm edged out the Panthers.

In a tight contest, the class of Melbourne should provide an upset victory.

Storm 18-12

New Zealand Warriors vs Gold Coast Titans
Mt Smart Stadium

The Titans may be out of the finals race, but they are a spirited outfit, and will be keen to turn around their recent effort against the Dragons.

The Warriors were also easily handled last week, and need to win to stay in touch with the top eight.

The home side should have too many points and be too desperate for a battling Titans team.

Warriors 42-12

Manly Sea Eagles vs Penrith Panthers
Brookvale Oval

The potentially season-ending injury to hooker Kevin Kingston may see James Segeyaro return for the mountain men in a game-changing boost. Without him, Penrith struggled in attack and would have learnt from their loss to Melbourne.

Manly, on the other hand, will be hoping to wrap up the minor premiership, but cannot underestimate Penrith.

This will be a cracker, and as a Penrith fan I’m anticipating an inspiring victory.

Penrith 18-16

North Queensland Cowboys vs Cronulla Sharks
1300Smiles Stadium

Without inspirational skipper Paul Gallen the Sharks will struggle through the rest of 2014. Their veterans need to step up. However, they play a Cowboys side coming off an impressive win over the Rabbitohs.

How can they compete? The Cowboys should win, and win well.

Cowboys 36-4
