Where has this form been for Richmond from the beginning of the season, where they had managed three wins after Round 13 and coach Damien Hardwick looked all but gone before season’s end.

The turn around in form has been mesmerising, and wherever it came from it must continue if Richmond want to play back-to-back finals campaigns for the first time in decades.

For Sydney the ramifications of losing this match are less dramatic, with a top-two position and home final sewn up. The Swans have achieved their most successful home-and-away season of all time, notching 17 impressive wins, beating the club record of 16 set multiple times, the most recent being their last premiership year of 2012.

Despite a home final all but secured, John Longmire will still be looking for an impressive team performance ahead of what promises to be a gruelling finals campaign.

Brandon Ellis has been instrumental in the Tigers’ surge and expect him to have a key role to play if Richmond are to get up over a powerful Swans outfit and play in September.

Prediction
If Richmond were to pull off the win and seal a finals berth, their back half of the season will go down as one of the biggest turnarounds in AFL history and Hardwick will be getting a contract extension.

However in front of a cauldron of Swans supporters and interstate the Tigers’ chances are slim, but expect this one to be a ripping clash.
