A high quality contest awaits as top four hopefuls the Penrith Panthers travel to Brookvale Oval to take on potential minor premiers the Manly Sea Eagles. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 3:00pm AEST.

Manly still find themselves in a strong position to claim first position on the ladder despite suffering a ten point defeat to the Eels last week.

The Sea Eagles raced to a 12 nil lead against Parramatta only to succumb 22-12 in an entertaining game of football.

Despite recent hiccups against the Rabbitohs and the Eels, Manly are back at fortress Brookvale for the first time in a month and should be favoured to fire against the Panthers.

Penrith are coming off a 24-10 defeat to Melbourne but have competed very well all season. They do however, seem to lack the personnel required to beat the true heavyweights of the NRL.

The Panthers remain winless against top four opposition this season, having suffered convincing defeats to the Rabbitohs and Roosters. It remains to be seen if they have what it takes to push the Sea Eagles at Brookvale Oval.

A first round defeat to Melbourne remains Manly’s only home loss for the year and they will be keen to preserve such a great home record against the Panthers this afternoon.

A win for the Sea Eagles today would also surely wrap up the minor premiership so there is plenty on the line for the home side.

Coach Geoff Toovey would have been annoyed by Manly’s capitulation to the Eels last week and will be expecting a complete performance from his side.

If the Sea Eagles do click, they could win this easily.

The Panthers however, should be expected to put up a fight. The battle between halves Peter Wallace, Jamie Soward and Kieran Foran and Daly Cherry-Evans should dictate which team wins this afternoon.

With both sides boasting considerable firepower this game could well be one of the best of Round 25.
