In the wake of the Makybe Diva stakes, there were a number of success stories and failures. Who disappointed and who left punters with heavy wallets last weekend?

Green Moon (7) $31 – Was a bit slow to begin, settled last on the rail and was still last at the turn looking for a gap up the middle, boxed on well up the straight to finish in sixth, was a solid run and looks in good touch, looking for more ground.

Fawkner (3) $10 – Jumped well and settled fourth, one wide, got the run of the race and let down in the straight to really challenge eventual winner, missed by a narrow margin for second, excellent run, looks to have another big prep ahead.

Boban (4) $4 – Jumped alright but ran into a bit of trouble early which unsettled him a little, settled near the rear on the rail, remained close to the rail on the turn and ended up behind eventual winner Dissident, looked to lose momentum when held up behind winner and finished only fairly for fifth, bit luckless again.

Super Cool (5) $41- Slow to begin and settled near the rear outside of Boban, was the widest runner on the turn and was fair down the straight to finish in eighth, not bad for first up and will be better for the run and looking for more distance.

Sertorius (10) $26 – Jumped ok and settled midfield outside of Puissance De Lune, came four wide on the turn and boxed on well up the straight for seventh, looked in good order.

Puissance De Lune (2) $7.50 – Jumped well and settled midfield on the rail, tracked up behind Fawkner on the turn and came home strongly for third, looking for more ground now and a win could be not far away.

Messene (9) $12 – Jumped ok and was made to work pretty hard to cross and lead from the wide barrier, went out to a three length lead with Dissident and was still there at the turn but faded fast and was poor down the straight to finish second last.

Spillway (8) $11 – Was slow to begin and settled last outside Green Moon, was pretty wide around the turn with cover, found some room and finished really well for fourth, looks in good order.

Dissident (6) $2.80 – Began well to settle second, worked up to contest the lead, sharing the lead on the turn and was strong down the straight to fight off the challengers, tough win, has really come of age.

Don Doremo (1) $61 – Jumped well and settled fourth on the rail, close to leaders on the turn still on the rail, ran out of puff and was only fair down the straight, finished last.
