After a humiliating defeat against Pakistan, Australian coach Darren Lehmann has taken his batsmen to a spin class in Abu Dhabi.

While initial plans for the class involved a machine to simulate the Pakistani spin bowling attack, ‘Boof’ abandoned this idea, after team psychologists warned some players were not mentally capable of such an examination.

Plan B saw all the squad’s batsmen and all-rounders don the lycra and settle for an easier form of spinning in the form of bikes.

However, reports from the Australian camp indicate batsman Alex Doolan may miss the second Test against Pakistan, after an accident in the class.

Following the Aussies’ dismal showing against the home side in the first Test, coach Lehmann took a back-to-basics approach, which commenced with the high intensity class. The move backfired, however, when Doolan fell off his bike shortly after the class began.

With spin coach Muttiah Muralitharan whispering instructions to his charges, Doolan apparently found the challenge of multitasking overwhelming, toppling from his bike in another display of poor footwork and a failure to adapt to local conditions.

Fast bowler Mitchell Johnson was apparently a standout in the session, attempting to ride two bikes at once, while shouting, “It’s ok guys, I’ve got this,” to batsmen sitting near him in the class.

Coach Boof has also employed the services of Australia’s greatest leg spinning natural resource, Shane Warne, who is believed to have offered free Skype coaching sessions to all players in the squad, in exchange for dating advice.
