TV:
Network Seven are the rights holders for the 2014 Melbourne Cup, as they have been since 2002.

It is the only place you will get live coverage of the race on television from 3pm AEDT, and it will be on their main channel (not on their digital channels 7Two or 7Mate).

Sky Racing and TVN will also be broadcasting the Cup, but it won’t be live. There is a two-minute delay where they are not allowed to show the race, meaning a two-minute gap between the Seven coverage and those on pay television, so the smart play is to use the free option.

Online:
There are multiple options for those who want to watch the Melbourne Cup on their laptop or mobile.

You can stream on their site Racing Network.

There are also many, cough cough, other methods available to people looking for online streaming, but most are illegal and of poor quality, so we can’t recommend you any of those.

You can also follow The Roar‘s text live blog of every race today, and the Melbourne Cup itself, and stay tuned for highlights of the race, which will come up momentarily after the race itself.

Radio:
As always, the unparalleled Gerard Whateley will be doing the pre-race build-up and calling the Melbourne Cup on ABC Local radio, which can be found on your local ABC station or online.

You can use this tool to find your local ABC frequency.
