Thursday is Ladies Day at Flemington, and while most are still suffering a Melbourne Cup hangover, those at Flemington today will be treated to the $1 million Group 1 Crown Oaks. Join us here on The Roar for a live blog and reaction from 4:40pm AEDT.

12 high quality fillies will contest this year’s race with Lumosity the early favourite after taking out the Group 2 Fillies Classic over 1600m by 2.5 lengths last start. While she hasn’t run this distance before she was impressive in the Classic and should be able to see out the trip in this race.

Crafty looks well suited here after she was a neck second in the Caulfield Classic over 2000m in he last start. She is one of the more classy runners in this field.

Chad Schofield will ride Go Indy Go who he has a high respect for. She is travelling well at the moment, after a third in The Vase over 2040m.

Thunder Lady was impressive on the weekend, winning the Wakefield as she weaved between runners and made up some crucial distance over the last 50m.

Set Square has only raced three times but has won twice including a two length win in the Ethereal Stakes last start.

Fontein Ruby is my value runner of the race and she currently sits at $13 fixed price.

Abduction is another in the market and Golconda is honestly priced at $21 with the other four runners at $26.

It’s worth noting that none of these runners have tackled the distance so there is some unknowns about this race. These fillies will be looking to join the likes of Kirramossa, Dear Demi and Miss Finland as fillies to have won the race.

Brent Ford’s Tips:

1. Crafty
2. Go Indy Go
3. Lumosity
4. Fontein Ruby
