Australian expressman Mitchell Johnson has been named the ICC Cricketer of the Year and the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year.

“This is something that I’ll be able to look back on in time when my career is over, and be exceptionally proud of,” was the 33-year-old’s reaction.

It was the second time Johnson has won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the Cricketer of the Year to join his former skipper Ricky Ponting as the only double winners.

Since the inaugural year of the ICC awards in 2004, when Rahul Dravid was the first winner, in 2005 it was shared by Jacques Kallis and Andy Flintoff.

In 2006 and 2007 Ponting won the honours, in 2008 Shivnarine Chanderpaul, 2009 went to Johnson, 2010 Sachin Tendulkar, 2011 Jonathan Trott, 2012 Kumar Sangakkara and last year Michael Clarke.
