With a break last week due to… unforeseen circumstances. But no matter, we’re back for Round 7!

We’ve awarded no points for Round 6, and with very mixed fortunes around Round 5, the gentlemen will be stinging to get some serious points on the board.

I know Tony Tannous if more fired up than ever for this season, so let’s get this tipping show back on the road!

Friday 21 November

Melbourne Victory vs Brisbane Roar @ Etihad Stadium – 7:40PM on FOXTEL, SBS.

Janek Speight says: Draw. Brisbane came up against a woeful Jets team, but they were still slick and Henrique’s hat-trick will give him confidence. Victory should welcome a few players back into the fold though.

Dom Trimboli says: A comfortable win last week has done much to quell the Roar’s early season concerns. I can’t see them toppling the Victory at home, but I do feel they can nick a point. Draw.

Mitch Grima says: Draw – Roar will be desperate to pick up where they left off against Newcastle, but will be happy with a point away.

Tony Tannous says: Fascinating game, and kicks off an incredibly good week. I hope that’s reflected in the crowds. Can the Roar back last their performance week up? They’ll take plenty of confidence out of it, but at home it’s hard to look beyond Victory, 3-1.

Perth Glory vs Wellington Phoenix @ nib Stadium – 9:45PM on FOXTEL

Janek Speight says: Perth. Wellington have been very impressive, as have Perth. But it’s a long trip so have to go for the home side.

Dom Trimboli says: Who doesn’t love the Distance Derby?! Backing Perth for a win here.

Mitch Grima says: Glory – So many are expected Glory’s run to halt but the juggernaut will roll on for at least another week.

Tony Tannous says: Another great game featuring two in-form teams. I reckon the Nix can pinch a draw, 1-1.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Newcastle Jets @ Pirtek Stadium – 5:00PM on FOXTEL

Janek Speight says: WSW. The Jets were terrible last week but will be wanting a reaction so tough one to call. But WSW rested players against Perth and should kickstart their domestic season in front of their fans.

Dom Trimboli says: Hard to say what kind of lineup Popovic will field, given the Wanderers’ heavy schedule. But I’ll take them for the three points regardless.

Mitch Grima says: Wanderers – There were signs of improvement for Western Sydney on Wednesday and they will do great damage if their attack gels on Saturday

Tony Tannous says: There were better signs from the Wanderers against the Mariners on Wednesday in terms of their structure if not their execution in the final third, and while the Jets were awful last Friday against Brisbane, the talk out of Newcastle is they’ve been snapped into action in training, with Jaliens back into central defence alongside Kantarovski. I’ll go Wanderers 1-0 but they’ll have to turn up ready.

Melbourne City vs Sydney FC @ AAMI Park – 7:30PM on FOXTEL

Janek Speight says: Melbourne City; they’ve got to win soon, right? Sydney will be a tough test but City will win if they stay switched on for 90 minutes.

Dom Trimboli says: City will still be fuming after coughing up the points last week. Sydney should find the going tough in Melbourne, but pencil me in for a win for Arnold’s boys. Adelaide for the win.

Mitch Grima says: Draw – Sydney will be boosted by the return of Terry Antonis, although Corey Gameiro’s injury means a change of system for Graham Arnold.

Tony Tannous says: Another great game and intriguing to see if City are affected by the late collapse last week. Mooy vs Antonis and Dimitrijevic is grand, and overall there is so much tactical intrigue in this game. How will Sydney look without the pace of Gamiero, can City play for 90 mins? I’ll go a 2-2 draw.

Sunday 23 November

Central Coast Mariners vs Adelaide United  @ Central Coast Stadium 5:00PM on FOXTEL

Janek Speight says: Adelaide. No one can stop Gombau, no one. Not even a plucky Mariners side.

Dom Trimboli says: Adelaide FTW.

Mitch Grima says: Mariners – The upset of the round. More a tactical tip than anything else. Mariners are on the mend.

Tony Tannous says: Another belter. Thought CCM started to resemble a team at Wanderland on Wednesday after the Glen Trifiro inspired fight-back in Melbourne last week. On Wednesday the effort was great and the organisation much better, but producing it consistently remains a question mark. And no team pulls you apart quite like Adelaide. Will Moss have learnt from the first half FFA Cup semi surrender? Won’t be one-way but hard to look beyond Adelaide, 2-1.
