Everything is big in Texas, particularly Dallas’ own Jordan Spieth.

The 21-year-old is the hottest golfer in the world, having won back-to-back tournaments in Sydney and Florida by 6 and 10 shots respectively, monstering two tough and demanding layouts – The Australian, and Isleworth Golf and Country Club.

At the Australian Open he carded 67, 72, 69 and 63 for 13-under that featured 22 birdies and just nine bogeys.

The 63 on the final day was accomplished and impressive. It was made even more so by the fact that he was sitting second at the start of the round, before blowing away world number three Adam Scott and a host of very competitive Aussie players.

He repeated the dose at his next tournament, this time in the third round.

At the Hero Challenge, he shot 66, 67, 63 and 66 for a record 26-under that included an eagle, 29 birdies, a mere four bogeys, and a rare double.

His 144 hole total: 36-under, with an eagle, 45 birdies, 13 bogeys, and one double.

That prompts two predictions – Spieth will win his first major in 2015, and be world number one sooner than later.

The underlying reason is Spieth’s hunger for success, that drives him to keep raising the bar.

Playing against the best drives him even harder.

Spieth dismissed world number one Rory McIlroy and three Adam Scott in Sydney, and in Florida did the same to Henrick Stenson, world number two, Jason Day (8), Rickie Fowler (9), Matt Kucher (11), and the host Woods, now ranked 24, who finished last of the 18-man field, 26 shots off the Spieth pace.

Amazingly, 37 of the world’s top 50 have yet to win a major, led by Stenson, Sergio Garcia (7), Day, Fowler, and Kuchar.

Spieth is ranked 11 until tomorrow, when he will ne ninth in the world, Billy Horshel (14), Hideki Matsoyama (16), Victor Dubuisson (17), Dustin Johnson (18), Jimmy Walker (21), Hunter Mahan (22), Jamie Donaldson (23), Ian Poulkter (25), Patrick Reed (26), Kevin Na (27), Joost Luiten (28),l Ryan Moore (29), Thomas Bjorn (33), Bill Haas (34), Brooke Koepke (35), Steve Gallacher (36), Lee Westwood (42), Mikka Ilonen (43), Thongchai Jaidee (44), Gary Woodland(45), Marc Leishman (46), Shane Lowry (47), Kevin Streelman (48), John Senden (49) and Brandt Snedeker at 50.

Jordan Spieth will now take six weeks off over Christmas and New Year, then his hunt for a major will resume in earnest.
