It’s a battle of the top of the table versus the bottom, as first placed Chelsea host a struggling Hull City, who are currently sitting in the relegation zone at eighteenth. Join us on The Roar from 2:00am (AEDT) for live scores.

Jose Mourinho’s men suffered their first loss of the season against Newcastle United in their last fixture, going down 2-1 in a game that Mourinho feels that his men should have won.

Only three points above second placed Manchester City, Chelsea will be looking to extend their points advantage over the defending champions.

The loss to Newcastle United will serve as a wake-up call for Chelsea, and despite their last result they will open up as 17-to-one favourites over Hull City.

Chelsea have never lost to Hull City in any competitions over the clubs history, having played them at home twenty times and winning fifteen of those fixtures.

Although Chelsea will be looking to move further away from the Citizens on the ladder, striker Diego Costa will be looking to chase down Manchester City star Sergio Aguero on the top scorers leader board.

The Chelsea striker has scored eleven goals this season – three behind Aguero. However with Aguero now out for four to six weeks due to injury, Costa has time to catch up.

Hull City find themselves in the relegation zone, just three points from the bottom of the table. The Tigers have only won one out of their last ten games, and have only won two games overall this season. Steve Bruce’s men will desperate for the three points heading to Stamford Bridge, however they have a monumentous challenge ahead of them.

The last time Hull City were victorious in the Premier League was back at the beginning of October when they defeated Crystal Palace at home 2-0. An incredible upset against Chelsea still won’t guarantee Hull City a table position out of the relegation zone, so Steve Bruce will feel his men can’t afford to come out of games with no points to show for it.

Hull City may have to visit Stamford Bridge without midfielder Mohamed Diame, who has been on the sidelines for a few weeks now after suffering a knee injury against Everton when the tigers drew to them 1-1 back at Matchday 14.

The last time these two sides played was back in January, when two second half goals from Eden Hazard and Fernando Torres saw Chelsea defeat Hull City 2-0 at the Kingston Communications Stadium.

It has shaped up as a battle between David and Goliath, Hull City are at $17 to win. Should the Tigers pull it off it would be their first ever win away from home against Chelsea.

Unfortunately for Steve Bruce’s men, it doesn’t look likely.

My prediction: Chelsea 5 -1 Hull City.

Will Chelsea keep their spot on the top of the Premier League table, or can Hull City pull of an incredible upset? Join us on The Roar from 2:00am (AEDT) to find out.
