Ownerforaday is one of horse racing’s real feel good stories. The event has created one of the more unique experiences in sport – offering all the benefits of racehorse ownership, with proceeds all to charity.

The horse that is up for ownership benefits is Melbourne Cup champion Protectionist, who returns to Flemington on March 14th for the Australian Cup.

The VRC together with Ownerforaday have combined to provide an exclusive experience all to benefit charity.

The package includes an all inclusive table for six on the window at the Atrium, with a $600 betting voucher, plus valet to and from the track. The money can’t buy is an escort with the owners to see Protectionist in the mounting yard and chat with trainer Kris Lees and jockey Craig Wiiliams before the Group 1 Australian Cup.

Should Protectionist win, you’ll also be part of the official presentation and champagne in the winners room!

The way to be involved is to bid either live at The Doxa 4Tracks4kids lunch tomorrow at Flemington, or online via a live bidding site.

Bidding has already reached $2,400, with all money going to the Doxa Foundation to support disadvantaged children and youth.

Previous Ownerforaday horses have included Fiorente in the previous Australian Cup and Sonntag in the Queensland Derby, both winning their respective Group 1 races, with significant funds raised for charity.
