Sportswriters Brett McKay and Ryan O’Connell are recycling old jokes and trying new formats in Episode 64 of the Cheap Seats podcast.

The NRL is all set to kick off, and the boys run the rule through the competition and name top fours, winners, wooden spooners, and everything in between. Also, Craig Bellamy may have super healing powers.

The boys launch into a comprehensive wrap of the Cricket World Cup action – including Brett’s shameless name-dropping. Shane Watson has been dropped from the Australian side, New Zealand beat Australia in a thriller last Saturday, before Australian bounced back and put Afghanistan back in their place. Meanwhile, Kumar Sangakkara is still making centuries for fun.

Super Rugby also gets a mention, as does Jarryd Hayne’s exciting NFL contract with the San Francisco 49ers.

#AskTheCheapSeats included tricky questions on Rugby World Cup bolters, Julian Savea’s singing, All Blacks-laden ‘B’ teams, Cheap Seats Tipping League geniuses, and Mark Nicholas.
