Adelaide United travel across the Tasman to face the Wellington Phoenix in a crucial top four clash at Hutt Recreational Ground. Join The Roar for live scores from 3:00pm (AEDT).

With second placed Melbourne Victory hosting league leaders Perth Glory in this evening’s fixture, this game looms as an opportunity for both the Reds and Phoenix to jump into the top two.

A draw or win for Perth tonight will allow the winner of today’s match to claim outright second at the end of Round 20. With Sydney FC hot on the heals of the top four, both teams will be feeling the pressure to secure all three points.

Adelaide enter this match with some poor road form in tow, after going down 3-1 to the sixth placed Melbourne City last week. The last road win the Reds played out was way back on January 5th, but in their favour it was against Perth Glory.

They have only travelled twice since that win, picking up losses against the Mariners and Melbourne City. Needless to say, the Reds will need to reignite the form that saw them beat the league’s best away if they have any chance at returning with a win this week.

Their hosts today are coming off a very strong road win against Melbourne Victory, sneaking home 2-3 last start. Their confidence will be high when they run out today, and with a home crowd behind them, they should be able to do enough to continue their charge towards the top of the table.

Prediction: Phoenix 2-1 United
