Monday Night Football is back with a bang, with the St George-Illawarra Dragons kicking off their season against the Melbourne Storm in NRL Round 1. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7:00pm (AEDT).

The Dragons were one of the busier teams this off-season, with 12 new additions to their 2015 squad.

Despite the loss of some key players (Brett Morris, Gerard Beale, Kyle Stanley and Adam Quinlan), the Dragons will be hoping their additions will push them into the finals in 2015.

CATCH UP ON THE LATEST NRL HIGHLIGHTS

The Storm seem to be a team on the decline heading into season 2015, with the key losses of Ryan Hoffman, Sisa Waqa and Justin O’Neill leaving numerous holes in their starting 13.

Tom Learoyd-Lahrs and Dale Finucane will help cover the loss of Hoffman, but with the ‘Big Three’ heading way past the wrong side of 30, they may struggle for consistency in 2015.

This will be the third straight Monday Night game between these two sides, with their first clash in 2014 arguably the most controversial game of the season.

Although the Dragons did win the last clash between the two sides, the Storm have historically dominated this match-up, winning 19 of 27.

Prediction
Although the Storm are favourites according to the bookies, I’m going to take the Dragons in this one.

Home teams are usually up for Round 1, and the Storm aren’t the same side that we’re used to.

Dragons by eight points.
