Having a hit with Roger Federer would be the highlight of most tennis fans sporting career. For one lucky youngster, that dream got to play out in front of a huge crowd at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Being lucky enough to earn the chance to rally against Federer is one thing. The next step (the difficult part) is to not let stage fright sink in and to show your best game in the big moment.
To the delight of the crowd as well as Federer’s opponent, Grigor Dimitrov, the young man not only showed great poise in his rally against one of the game’s greatest, but he managed to pull off a perfect lob shot and claim the point.
Federer and Dimitrov were in New York playing an exhibition match which Dimitrov would go on to win 6-2, 1-6, 7-5.
