SYDNEY, March 16 AAP – Star five-eighth Kieran Foran will reportedly inform his Manly teammates on Monday of his decision to switch to fierce NRL rivals Parramatta next season.
News Limited is reporting the 24-year-old agreed to terms with the Eels last week, but will actually confirm the move when he fronts teammates on Monday – which will reportedly be followed by an official announcement from Parramatta later in the day.
The long-rumoured move is another crushing blow to the Sea Eagles, who lost Foran’s halves partner Daly Cherry-Evans to a big-money Gold Coast offer last week.
Foran is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury suffered in Manly’s round one hiding at the hands of the Eels.
Meanwhile, Sea Eagles coach Geoff Toovey has confirmed the club’s interest in exiled Dally M medal winner Todd Carney as a potential halves replacement for the departing international duo.
Carney is currently in the first year of a three-year deal with Super League club Catalans Dragons, but on the weekend won his unfair dismissal case against former club Cronulla with the NRL appeals committee, potentially opening the door for a return.
“We’re obviously in the market for a replacement half,” Toovey told Fairfax Media.
“There are many candidates out there and Todd is one we will be interested in.”
