TVN officially ceased operation on Sunday, March 15th, with the curtain closing following the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) and Group 1 Newmarket (1200m) at Flemington.

The assets of the company, 50% of which were held by the Victorian racing clubs and 50% by the ATC in NSW, were earlier carved up.

Publications Best Bets and Winning Post were sold to (silent) top-bidder Victoria for a rumoured sum of $8.6m. Digital subscription asset racingnetwork.com.au was sold to Racing NSW for a reported $60,000 figure. This purchase was for just the website link and database, rather than the streaming platform, which was owned by Telstra under a previous joint-venture.

Racing.com will also host daily broadcasts, with new talent and ex-TVN presenters joining the broadcasts. The roster includes Shane Anderson, Jason Richardson, Jo McKinnon, Adam Olszanski, Terry Bailey and Roger Oldridge.

Race replays remain free across devices.

In addition, for those on computer, mobile or tablet, racing is shown live through the Racing NSW website.

Race replays and barrier trial replays remain available.

Sky Channel’s Sky Racing World (ch 521) is now included in Foxtel packages, free of additional subscription fees.

Racing NSW has said in a statement that they will launch “an innovative new tool” for punters, with new broadcast graphics enabling access to “unparalleled racing data” which includes “the speed of runners at various stages of a race, tracking acceleration and deceleration, distance covered by runners, as well as individual sectional times”.

Launch issues

The Roar could not access either Racing.com nor RacingNSW.com.au vision without significant problems encountered. Both are suffering teething problems, with feedback recommended to be sent to both teams to log issues.
