The 2015 Arnold Classic in Melbourne did not disappoint. In front of a raucous crowd including bodybuilding immortal Arnold Schwarzenegger, Eddie Hall broke the deadlift world record – setting a new mark of 1,018 pounds/462 kg.

There have been some great moments at this year’s Arnold Classic.

Atif Anwar, the 34yr old parking inspector from Darwin took out the over 100kg class and now Eddie Hall, the strongman from Staffordshire in England has lived the dream and broken Benedikt Magnusson’s 2014 record of 461kg in front of his hero, the Governator.

Although you would think if you had your idol next to you in a career-defining moment, maybe you wouldn’t leave him hanging when he tries to congratulate you – check it out at about 0:26 in the video above.

The 27 year old powerlifter won Britain’s Strongest Man competition in 2014 and 2015 and can now add this outstanding achievement to his name.
