Martin Kennedy provisionally suspended by the NRL

Roosters prop Martin Kennedy has been provisionally suspended by the NRL after being issued with an infraction notice by the League on Wednesday.

Kennedy is said to be considering fighting the allegations levelled at him by the NRL on Wednesday, that he violated the NRL’s anti-doping policy.

The original notice from the NRL alleged that Kennedy breached the policy by possessing and attempting to use banned substances.

It will not move onto the NRL’s anti-doping Tribunal.

The full statement from the NRL reads as follows:

The NRL said today it has provisionally suspended Sydney Roosters player Martin Kennedy.

This follows him being issued with a Notice of Alleged Anti-Doping Rule Violations under the NRL’s Anti-Doping Policy on Wednesday.

The Notice alleged that Mr Kennedy breached the Policy through the possession and attempted use of banned substances.

The matter will now proceed to the NRL’s Anti-Doping Tribunal and the NRL will not be making further comment while this process is under way.
