Good morning, I hope you are ready for this early morning Super Rugby clash between the Bulls and the Crusaders from Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, it is sure to be a belter! Join The Roar for live scores and coverage with kick off at 4.10am (AEDT).

A pivotal clash for both teams as they look to stay in touch with the competition’s leaders as we approach the halfway point of the tournament.

The hosting Bulls really did use their ‘get out of jail’ card last weekend, surviving on the accurate boot of Handre Pollard and their opposition’s ill-discipline.

The Bulls fumbled their way through last week’s match and will certainly need to improve on all facets this weekend against the Crusaders who have shown signs they are starting to find their groove this season.

Of concern will be their set piece, an area they will need to hold firm against a Crusaders side which has monstered their more recent opponents particularly at scrum time and the Bulls’ Springboks in particular will need to take responsibility this morning, particularly the front row.

Some of the performance can be put down to coming off the bye but they will need to display more of the enthusiasm and cohesion displayed in previous weeks before the bye if they hope to snare victory this morning and I suspect the Bulls will not lack for motivation with the Crusaders in town.

The Crusaders have slowly started to build their season culminating in a quality second half performance against the Cheetahs last weekend and with a number of their All Blacks beginning to find their feet this season look ready to mount a serious assault in this year’s competition.

However, of concern for the Crusaders is their reliance on Nemani Nadolo to provide penetration for their backline and they will be wanting more of their players to put their hands up in the backline.

An intriguing aspect to this game will be the head to head battle between the Bulls young supremo Handre Pollard and the Crusaders experienced Dan Carter. Their respective performances will be pivotal to the outcome of this match and perhaps a fascinating insight into their form with the stacked international calendar to follow this year.

Pop on the kettle and settle in for what promises to be an enthralling contest between two of Super Rugby’s most successful franchise and join in the discussion below as the match plays out!
