Shane Warne was thirsty after the Aussies won the Cricket World Cup final on Sunday night. Very thirsty.

In fact, he was so thirsty, he went around asking all the Aussie players after the game if they were thirsty too.

“Are you feeling thirsty?,” he asked of wicketkeeper Brad Haddin.

To Josh Hazlewood and Shane Watson:

“So what’s the plan – besides lots of drink and that. How long is that going to last. Just one night, two nights? We saw (coach) Darren Lehmann say it might last a week. Do you reckon it will go a bit longer than that?

“Go and enjoy yourselves guys. Hopefully we’ll join you for a few.”

To Steve Smith: “Are you going to have a bit of a drink tonight too Smitty? Are you going to get thirsty as well? The boys are thirsty they seem,” Warne asked.

It wasn’t just Warnie though, with Mark Nicholas quizzing Michael Clarke about whether the late Phillip Hughes would have wanted the lads to get thirsty.

It’s safe to say that the reaction on Twitter from a few people weren’t happy that Warnie was thirsty for the inside mail on the partying activities of the Aussie boys.

It didn’t bug Warnie one little bit though, with him biting back this morning on Twitter, as well as posting a photo of him and Michael Clarke celebrating the victory.

The best thing about this tweet? It was at 3am!

Here are a selection of folks who weren’t happy with Warnie wanting to get in on the action, or just made a good joke about it.
