A rather uneventful match, not many chances from both sides, but the Socceroos will feel like they should have won.
It was a hard pitch to play on, and aside from two chances from Leckie and Burns, there is not much to report in shots.
Both sides struggled to break the defense, and the Macedonian side looked to lack a lot of discipline. Macedonia sat back and looked for the counter, but it never came.
The Socceroos never really played with any intensity, and looked slow in build ups, much slower than in their recent games against Germany and South Korea.
Ikonomidis made his debut for the Socceroos, but he will want to get more involved next time he comes out for the green and gold.

Having lost their last three European Qualification games, FYR Macedonia will be looking to regain some form in this international friendly against the Socceroos.
Off the back of a disappointing 2-1 loss to Belarus just three days prior, which saw Aleksandar Trajkovski’s early goal cancelled out, Bosko Djurovski’s side will be desperate for consistent positive results in friendly and competitive games if they wish to qualify for Euro 2016.
Macedonia currently sit fifth in group C with three points and five games remaining, and sit in 108th position in the FIFA world rankings.
After a string of impressive performances, the Socceroos will look to play Macedonia for only the second time and come out on top again. In their last two matches the Socceroos won the AFC Asian Championship, before playing current world champions Germany to a 2-2 draw in Kaiserslautern last Thursday.
The Socceroos found themselves 2-1 up after James Troisi and Mile Jedinak cancelled out Marko Reus’ early goal, but a late equaliser from striker Lukas Podolski was enough to deny Australia a win.
Australia are now unbeaten in their last four games, and defender Jason Davidson is determined to keep it that way.
“We’re definitely going into this game focused to make sure we get a result – we want to win,” Davidson told FFA TV.
The last time FYR Macedonia and the Socceroos met was way back in March of 1997, when Aurelio Vidmar found the net in 89th minute to snatch a 1-0 win for Australia.
Expect the game to be more decisive this time around.
