The 1600m Group 1 Doncaster Mile is one of the feature races of The Championships. Join The Roar before the race start time of 4:20pm (AEDT) for commentary and pre-race analysis.

Sacred Falls is going for three in a row, but history is stacked against him with no horse ever claiming three wins.

Hallowed Crown is the current favourite at $5.50 and despite a wide barrier he will be extremely hard to beat. He has had two runs on a heavy track both for wins, wasn’t disgraced over the 2000m last start and the 1600m run suits him better.

He overcame a wide gate in the Golden Rose, and if there is one man who can get him to win it’s Tommy Berry.

Hallowed Crown will carry 52 kilograms and be mighty hard to beat.

Suavito is in form and drops an amazing seven kilograms coming into this race. Has won twice over the distance from four starts and has never been out of the trifecta.

She got a race run to suit in the Futurity Stakes and there was a smart ride in the Blamey that got her home. It all depends where she gets in the running from barrier one, but there is more than enough talent to win this. Corey Brown comes back to ride, and $13 is a great quote.

Hard to go past Royal Descent on a wet track with the ‘Magic Man’ Joao Moreira onboard. He pulled the pants down of the top jockeys last time he was here on Brazen Beau, and it won’t be hard to imagine where he will have Royal Descent on a wet track – $8 is a fair price as well.

Real Impact took a big fight in the George Ryder against Criterion. It showed a great quality of Japanese horses that they just don’t go down easy. Has drawn wide, but James McDonald has plenty of talent, and has had one ride on the runner which will help. Will feature in the running, but the barrier hurts.

Sacred Falls is building for this, has had good running behind the winners so far this preparation, and we know he knows how to win this race with two under the belt. Zac Purton teams up once again and $17 is not a bad quote, but the wide barrier could be an undoing.

Porchinet is the only other runner I am interested in. Drops to 51 kilograms, was absolutely dominant last start, and hasn’t been out of the trifecta in the distance from three starts. Hasn’t run on a wet track but you would think being an import he’ll run well.

A little bit of specking for Kermadec, Plucky Belle and Sweynesse.
