Port Adelaide Power and the Penrith Panthers are reportedly breaking traditional code barriers by joining forces to try to boost their brands.
The AFL and NRL clubs are teaming up in hopes of becoming better equipped to compete with the leading organisations in their respective codes, Fairfax reports.
Port Adelaide chairman David Koch paid a visit to the Panthers during the off-season, and Panthers coach Ivan Cleary and his coaching staff are scheduled reciprocate in May.
Panthers chief executive Justin Pascoe said the visit would give them the chance to see how an AFL team structures their football program.
“This partnership has the potential to extend past just football,” he said.
“It extends through the whole organisation and Port Adelaide chief executive Keith Thomas and myself are currently in discussion around several initiatives, including an employee exchange program aimed at sharing and transferring knowledge, skills and capabilities.”
